The Dorel - S.F. Nob Hill
You can almost hear the quiet....The Dorel was acoustically engineered with the goal of achieving residential condominium levels of quiet. A two-year restoration of the building included double-layers of sheet rock asymmetrically installed with RC Channel to create airspaces between the residential units resulting in an acoustic buffer to reduce lateral sound transfer. High-efficiency R-30 insulation was installed in areas where comparable buildings use R-13. New dual-pane windows were used to keep ambient street noise out. Acoustical mats were installed under the bathroom/shower tile to reduce footfall sound transfer.
